TOPIC: STAY CONNECTED
TEXT: John 15: 4-5
The above scrioture reads:
4. Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.
5. I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.
God’s desire is that we lead a productive life as Christians. He has done so much in ensuring that this goal becomes a reality by positioning us BRANCHES in Christ, who is the TRUE VINE.
Most productive trees bears their fruits on their branches and this tree, the TRUE VINE is not exceptional.
For the fact that God has positioned us a branches on the TRUE VINE does not determine our productiveness; but what matters most is our ability to abide in the TRUE VINE. This is because what determines the fruits we bear is from the roots of the TRUE VINE. Jesus said;
4Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.
5I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.
It’s high time we understand that fruits-bearing Christianity is not a function of human muscles; but by the flow of resources from our Source, the TRUE VINE. For without Him we can do nothing.
Anyway, in the school of productivity in Christian faith, there must be God factor as well as human factor. We must recognize where the source of our productivity is coming from and position ourselves there for ceaseless-flow of His impartation.
STAY CONNECTED should be our watch word! Divinely we are positioned for productivity; but we must make up our mind to remain connected to have productivity birthed in us. And why we stay connected, we must surrender ourselves to divine-pruning to be more productive in things of God.
This is a process that most Christians doesn’t want to go through. But until you go through this process, you will not be processed to be productive.
Jesus said in John 15:2; “Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit”.
in John 15:6, He revealed the consequences of not being connected to the true vine, saying: “If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned”.
Friend, the choice is yours, whether to abide or not; but i trust you will abide.
