PRAYER FOR THE MONTH OF JULY

PRAYER FOR THE MONTH OF JULY

By

SOUGHTOUT EMEKA MATTHEW

Introduction:

July is the seventh month in the Roman Calendar which is commonly used today. In the Book of 1 Kings 8:2, the Bible reveals that the seventh month in the Hebrew calendar is called the month ETHANIM.

Ethanim means THE PERMANENT BROOKS. Your brooks shall not dry up in Jesus name! It shall constantly run.

Bible history contains a lot of events that happened in the seventh month of the year which by revelation forms the basis of our prayers.

As we pray God’s word back to Him, I see Him bring His word to pass in your life in Jesus name.

How to pray the prayer for the month of July….

It is just simple! Read the scriptures, mediate on the revelation and pray the prayers…

prayer for the month of July

  1. Scriptures: Gen_8:4  And the ark rested in the seventh month, on the seventeenth day of the month, upon the mountains of Ararat.

Revelation: The ark is like what house Noah, his household and other creatures that were exempted from divine judgment of flood by selection. The ark was floating or wandering on the flood for many days until at the point it rested.

The Hebrew word for rested in the above scripture is NÛACH which implies to settle down, be quiet, give comfort, etc.

In this seventh month, your life shall settle down, you home shall be quiet and give comfort to all that are therein.

Prayer: O Lord, cause my life to settle down from struggling in Jesus name.

Prayer: O Lord, let there be quietness in my life and home in Jesus name.

Prayer: O Lord, let my life and home give comfort to anyone that comes under my shelter in Jesus name.

  1. Scriptures: Lev_16:29-31 And this shall be a statute for ever unto you: that in the seventh month, on the tenth day of the month, ye shall afflict your souls, and do no work at all, whether it be one of your own country, or a stranger that sojourneth among you: For on that day shall the priest make an atonement for you, to cleanse you, that ye may be clean from all your sins before the LORD. It shall be a sabbath of rest unto you, and ye shall afflict your souls, by a statute for ever.

Revelation: God set and everlasting statue for the children of Israel that on the tenth day of the seventh month they should afflict their souls and do no work at all.

What is means to afflict one’s soul…

The Hebrew word for afflict in the above scriptures is ‛ÂNÂH which implies abase self, humble (self), submit self, chasten self, deal hardly with self, exercise self, force self, etc.

How far you can go in life, in your work and in your walk with God is dependent on how you can deal with SELF.

The essence of dealing with SELF or FLESH is to attain cleansing which our High priest Jesus through His atonement and until then, we can’t enter into our rest from sins.

Prayer: O Lord, I receive power from you to deal with the force of flesh in my life obstructing my walk with you in Jesus name.

Prayer: Lord Jesus my high priest, through the atonement provided for us on the cross of Calvary by your death; cleanse me from all my sins in Jesus name.

Prayer: O Lord, give me rest from every besetting sin(s) in my life in Jesus name.

  1. Scriptures: Lev_23:24  Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, In the seventh month, in the first day of the month, shall ye have a sabbath, a memorial of blowing of trumpets, an holy convocation.

Revelation: Most of the feasts of the children of Israel were fulfilled in Jesus Christ. In fact, their feasts are all about Jesus Christ, His missions on the earth and thereafter.

Jesus is our Sabbath (Rest). And to all who are labored and are heavy laden, He gives rest.

Jesus is our atonement. He is the Lamb of God that takes away the sins of the world.

The blowing of the trumpets is about His rapture of the saints/second coming. It shall be a Holy convocation when those who are dead in Christ and those alive in Christ shall change in a twinkling of an eye to caught up with the dead saints in the air to meet the Lord of Heaven and the earth.

God is a God of unification. One of the reasons for giving the children of Israel all of these feasts is for the purpose of convocation. Through these feasts God brings the Israelites together as one to share one common purpose in spite of the tribes. It is life a family reunion time. It is a time everyone keeps their differences and embraces God’s purpose. At this time, nobody is the focus; but the only focus is God and God alone. Isn’t that wonderful?

God will help His church and our world to arrive at oneness. He will soon bring us at a point we shall all come in the unity of faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ. Amen!

Prayer: O Lord, don’t let me miss your rest (Financially, maritally, spiritually, socially, mentally, morally, academically, etc) in Jesus name.

Prayer: O Lord, when the trumpet shall sound, don’t let me miss rapture in Jesus name.

Prayer: O Lord, bring reunion to my family, community, nation our churches and ministries in Jesus name.

  1. Scriptures: Lev_23:27  Also on the tenth day of this seventh month there shall be a day of atonement: it shall be an holy convocation unto you; and ye shall afflict your souls, and offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD.

Revelation: The seventh month is a month loaded with prophetic events. God gave those festive events to the children of Israel when they were on their way to Canaan land and little did they know it was all about Jesus and His redemptive works.

The seventh month is not all about a Holy convocation for atonement unto the Israelites. It is also a time of offering sacrificial offerings unto the Lord for atonement of their sins.

The Psalmist asked, what shall I render unto the Lord for all He had done unto me? This question goes to you as well, what shall you offer unto the Lord for the atonement He had purchased for you on the cross of Calvary? Think about it! What can you sacrificially offer unto God for saving your soul with the most costly price…His life, His blood?

So, this seventh month shall be a month of SACRIFICIAL OFFERINGS unto the Lord. It is high time to leave your comfort zone and do something very demanding for God.

It was recorded in the days of King Hezekiah, “As soon as the word spread, Bnei-Yisrael gave generously the firstfruits of their grain, wine, oil, honey and all the produce of the field, as well as tithe of all the abundance. The children of Israel and Judah who lived in the towns of Judah, also brought in the tithe of bulls and sheep, and the tithe of the sacred things consecrated to Adonai their God. They piled them in heaps. In the third month the heaps began to accumulate and finished in the seventh month.” 2 Ch 31:5-7

You have to choose to give your withholden tithes. It is sacrificial! You choose to fast for a week and give a week meal to the poor. You can choose to drop your car and trek on foot to reach a lot of people in your neighborhood with the gospel of Jesus Christ. You can choose to drop your car and enter public transport all through this month to share the word of God with passengers. You can choose to put down this month’s salary or allowance into the ministry’s account for tracts and gospel materials or programs to be organized for lost souls.

Prayer: O Lord, having seen all you’ve done for me on the cross of Calvary, I receive grace from you today to live a sacrificial life for you not just this month alone; but all the days of my life in Jesus name.

Prayer: O Lord, I have decided to make a sacrificial offering unto you for saving my soul, lay in my heart what you would have me give unto you as my sacrifice offering in appreciation to what you have done for me on the cross of Calvary in Jesus name.

  1. Scriptures: Lev_23:34  Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, The fifteenth day of this seventh month shall be the feast of tabernacles for seven days unto the LORD.

Revelation: Among the feasts the children of Israel observe in the seventh month is the feast of Tabernacles. This is to remind them of their wilderness journey from Egypt to Canaan for they have been living in their tabernacles.

Christianity is a journey. It is a journey from earthly life to heavenly life. No wonder in this journey, we can survive without having a tabernacle to dwell in.

Jesus is our tabernacle. He is the tabernacle of God. John confirmed, “And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.” Rev_21:3

Celebrating the feast of tabernacles is about celebrating the love of God for us, choosing to be and dwell with us and to be our God. This month is about celebrating His presence in your life and with you.

Prayer: O Lord, I celebrate your presence in my life and with me in Jesus name.

Prayer: O Lord I thank you for if you be with me, no power can be against me nor overcome me in Jesus name.

Prayer: O Lord, may you forever be my God in Jesus name.

  1. Scriptures: 2Ch_7:10  And on the three and twentieth day of the seventh month he sent the people away into their tents, glad and merry in heart for the goodness that the LORD had shewed unto David, and to Solomon, and to Israel his people.

Revelation: After convocation, God’s people have to retire back to their homes. But the interesting thing here in the above scripture was that none that converge before God shall return home without being glad and happy in his or her heart. This is because; God will show them His goodness from beginning to the end and from the smaller to the greatest. That’s why you shouldn’t miss any meeting of God’s people this month and beyond.

Prayer: O Lord, in this month of July, gladness and happiness shall not cease in my life and family in Jesus name.

Prayer:  O Lord, show me your goodness in Jesus name.

Prayer: O Lord, I receive grace not to miss any of our meetings in Jesus name.

  1. Scriptures: Zec_8:19  Thus saith the LORD of hosts; The fast of the fourth month, and the fast of the fifth, and the fast of the seventh, and the fast of the tenth, shall be to the house of Judah joy and gladness, and cheerful feasts; therefore love the truth and peace.

Revelation: God wants us fast unto Him. The fasting of God is loving truth and peace. The acceptable fast unto God is feeding the poor and standing on the path of justice.

Israel as a nation comes together to fast four times in a year and that’s in the fourth, fifth, seventh and tenth months of each year.

During the captivity in Babylon, the Israelites failed to observe these months of fasting unto God properly; but just for mourning sake. Zechariah confirmed in Zechariah 7:5, “Speak unto all the people of the land, and to the priests, saying, When ye fasted and mourned in the fifth and seventh month, even those seventy years, did ye at all fast unto me, even to me?”

After that time, God spoke unto them saying that as they love the truth and peace, the fast of the fourth, fifth, seventh and tenth month shall be unto the house of Judah joy, gladness and cheerful feasts.

Prayer: O Lord, give me the grace to wait upon you in fasting and prayer this month in Jesus name.

Prayer: O Lord, as I wait upon you in fasting this month, turn my sorrows into joy in Jesus name.

Prayer: O Lord, let the fast of this month bring celebrations into my family in Jesus name.
