It says,
“And he said, I am God, the God of thy father: fear not to go down into Egypt; for I will there make of thee a great nation:” Genesis 46:3

Has God spoken to you to do something of late? Has He asked you to relocate like He told Jacob? Has He asked you to change a line of business? Has He asked you to go for another job? Has He asked you to give a sacrificial seed such as empty your account and give it for the furtherance of the gospel?

One thing always stand between us and our break through, blessings, success or achievements and that is FEAR.

Fear always come attacking and limiting us from doing or achieving what we can achiever which we never know we can achieve or do.

When fear hinders us from doing what God wants us to do or hinders us from going through what God wants us to go through, it limits Him from doing what He wants to do for us.

When God asked Jacob to go down to Egypt, little did he know what the future holds for Him and His generation in God. Little did Jacob know that the way down is up.

When Jacob received the instruction to go down to Egypt, he was afraid. He was afraid of losing the present achievements. He started nursing thoughts like: how would I have to go down? If I go down, can I ever come up again? If I go down, can I ever make it? Isn’t it foolishness to start all over after I have arrived to this point? In fact, there is no sense in going down to Egypt for I knew what I passed through when I went down to Padanaram (Syria). I knew how I was able to escape from my uncle Laban and I don’t think going down to Egypt is a good idea. What about if I go down and never rise up, what will people think of me? Won’t they say I am crazy? These are few thoughts I guess Jacob nursed.

God knows our thoughts. He knows our fear. He knew Jacob’s thoughts was FEAR-POWERED. He knew Jacob’s life cannot progress through fear, then He asked him to FEAR NOT TO GO DOWN TO EGYPT. He knew in going down to Egypt lies his blessed future. In going down to Egypt lies his increase and multiplication. Jacob never knew that due to the fact he was walking by sight and not by faith.

Take note of this!

God knows without obedience which is an act if faith and courage, He cannot do what He intends to do in our lives. He knows without obedience, He cannot unlock what He has in store for us both now and in the future. So He have to help us know the force that can hinder our compliance so we can deal with and take a step of faith so He could be compelled to act in our lives.

He told Jacob, your problem is FEAR. You’ve got to get rid if it, so He could do what He wanted to do in his life and generation.

Take note of this!

God can let you know the problem behind your inability to obey Him and get your blessings such as fear; but He will not get rid of it. You are the one who is to deal with your fear. You are the one who has the responsibility to get rid of it.

God reveals the root of the problem for we to react against it. He reveals for us response or react where necessary.

Take note of this!

Fear is not what you can get rid at once. You need to keep reacting against it for it to be getting rid of. And to REACT against it means to act and act and act against it until it is no more. It is to take consistent certain positive actions that retards until its over.

Take note of this!

The greater blessing, greater achievement God has for you is in the next instruction He has given you.

Sometimes, we never know how Gods next instruction for our lifting will come. Jacob never knew his. In fact, it is circumstances initiated. God has to take Joseph to Egypt and made him next to Pharaoh. God also caused famine to sweep across the whole world which directed the focus of everyone in every nation including Jacob and his family to Egypt where they can get food from Joseph.

Joseph has to reveal himself to his brothers who came to buy food from Egypt and asked them to bring their father down to Egypt, who was very afraid to embark on such venture until God instructed him to kill his fear and go down to Egypt so that His agenda for him and his generation can be fulfilled.

Today, I enjoin you to get rid of fear from your life. Fear is your greatest enemy, so get rid of it. It is a hindrance to your success and better life, so get rid of it. It is a limitation to your blessings, so get rid of it. And to get rid of it, you only need to put all its thoughts aside and kill them by taking the step of obedience and that’s just to do what God’s word says. Just do it! Just step in and when you do, the limiting power of fear is dealt with and breakthrough becomes a reality.

Let me leave you with this parting scriptures, Joshua 3: 13-17. It says,

13 And it shall come to pass, as soon as the soles of the feet of the priests that bear the ark of the LORD, the Lord of all the earth, shall rest in the waters of Jordan, that the waters of Jordan shall be cut off from the waters that come down from above; and they shall stand upon an heap.

 14  And it came to pass, when the people removed from their tents, to pass over Jordan, and the priests bearing the ark of the covenant before the people;

15  And as they that bare the ark were come unto Jordan, and the feet of the priests that bare the ark were dipped in the brim of the water, (for Jordan overfloweth all his banks all the time of harvest,)

16  That the waters which came down from above stood and rose up upon an heap very far from the city Adam, that is beside Zaretan: and those that came down toward the sea of the plain, even the salt sea, failed, and were cut off: and the people passed over right against Jericho.

17  And the priests that bare the ark of the covenant of the LORD stood firm on dry ground in the midst of Jordan, and all the Israelites passed over on dry ground, until all the people were passed clean over Jordan.

With the above scriptures you can understand that obstacles cannot give way until you take courageous steps. In the same way, fear cannot give way for to obey God and get what future holds for you in God until you start taking courageous steps to do and to achieve what God wanted for your life and generation.

So, would you let fear hinder you?
